What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at ABM?
Job Description
Transports product to ovens using electric pallet jacks for 6 hours then loads & off-loads product into an oven for 6 hours.
Essential Functions
- Scans full carts of product to verify there are no mixed products on the cart.
- Transports product to ovens by using electric pallet jacks.
- Scans product on cart to verify it goes into the appropriate oven.
- Returns empty carts to the forming area.
- Loads yarn packages onto oven hangers prior to drying. Unloads them when dry.
- Delivers carts of dried yarn to the next process.
- Endfinds product after oven drying.
- Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs to equipment or operating systems.
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
- Must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
Responsibilities
- Train & be Certified to use an electric pallet jack.
- Train & be certified to scan product.
- Train & be certified to use a lift assist.
- Train & be certified in applicable processes per documented procedures.
- Maintain area cleanliness to Client's specifications.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 yr of similar or manufacturing work experience
