Job Title Design Intern - Home Job Description About the DDM Summer Internship Program: The Dotdash Meredith Summer Internship Program is a 10 week full time program that runs from June 3rd through August 9th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning, opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus, some fun events throughout the summer! About the Team: The Home Design Team is comprised of the Brand Design Team and Product Design team working across Better Homes & Gardens, Real Simple, Southern Living, The Spruce, Martha Stewart, MyDomaine, Daily Paws and The Spruce Pets. Collectively we work on, graphic treatments, original illustrations, brand identity, social, podcast, site, email, UXR and tool design. The team maintains and pushes the visual brand voice of our home and pets brands as we adapt to the latest innovations in the digital space. As a company we are always looking to create the best and most quality content. As a design team we ensure the visuals reflect what is current and fresh for our brands. About the Role: The Visual Design intern will work with both the content/brand design team and the product team within the Home Group. After completing the internship the intern will come away with a better understanding for the process of receiving a visual design brief and key tools and insights related to user experience, including: Building visual graphics that would appear on site and/or social Supporting user research and testing About You: The Home Design Intern will be currently enrolled in a graphic design, or related visual design program and have a passion for all things visual, from brand identity and visual storytelling to the latest trends in product design. They will be able to conceptualize layouts based on set requirements, have an understanding of hierarchy, typography, and alignment. They will be a team player encouraged by constructive feedback with a desire to learn. Experience working in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required. Experience working in Figma and/or Procreate are not a requirement but a plus. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
