SUMMARY
Ensure maintenance and safety of Facility, Equipment, Building Structure and Grounds
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Arrive at work station at or before start of shift
•Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
•Conduct routine inspections of equipment and premises
•Test, diagnose and repair motors and motor starters
•General mechanical troubleshooting, repair and modifications
•Preventative maintenance and record keeping
•Conduct basic plumbing repairs
•Conduct basic building repairs (carpentry)
•Conduct safety repairs
•Perform minor building electrical modifications e.g. run conduit and wire
•Run data cables
•Perform Maintenance Mechanic duties when applicable
•Build cabinets
•Replace ballasts when applicable
•Schedule and coordinate maintenance department
•Schedule forklift, compressor, generator and HVAC repairs or maintenance
•Coordinate and plan equipment installs
•Schedule service technicians and outside contractors
•Purchase and inventory of parts
•Facilitate and execute landlord compliance
•Coordinate fire alarm and sprinkler testing
•Coordinate and schedule fire department and environmental inspections
•Coordinate and contract special waste e.g. Hazardous material, Ink etc.
•All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
•Ability to read schematics, check blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary
•Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting
•Must be forklift certified and pass recertification
•Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with certifications and license
•Proven maintenance experience
•Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
•Ability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts
•Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
•Strong organizational and follow up skills
•Eye for detail
•Ability to work independently
•Strong time management skills
•Experience in Printing or Printing related field
•Basic chiller and HVAC experience a plus
•Ability to stand and walk more than 4 hours/day
•Contribute to a safe working environment and be able to work with others, must be able
to follow direction and also be self motivated
•Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary, some on call required
•Must be able to communicate effectively
•Basic computer skills
•Physical dexterity:
- Ability to stand, walk lift, bend, twist and stretch throughout the shift
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequently lift and handle average weight items and up to 75lbs. or more
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
•Ability to tolerate regular exposure to, e.g. moderate mechanical/equipment noise, fumes, odors and airborne particles
