We are looking for experienced, detail-oriented catering Banquet Event Managers to lead the day of event operations at off premise catering events. This person must have experience running events from setup to breakdown, managing and delegating responsibilities to team members and quick problem-solving ability.
This position requires captains to begin at our location in Elkridge, MD and drive our trucks (small box truck) or vans to the venue to work the event. Drivers license is a must.
Responsibilities include:
- Review all event paperwork prior to event including timeline, floor plan, menu, venue details & rentals.
- Oversee event setup & breakdown including assigning responsibilities to team members throughout the event
- Keep the event on pace with the timeline
- Maintain communication with the kitchen and coordinate food & beverage service to guests
-Act as the onsite contact for external vendors such as DJ’s, florists, photographers, etc.
-Facilitate breakdown of event in a speedy and efficient manner
Skills and experience:
-2 years of experience in the food service industry. Experience as a manager or lead server is preferred
-Previous experience working in events is a plus
-Comfortable wearing many hats, and juggling many roles at once
-Eye for detail
-Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
-Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours at a time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
