Join our team at ABYGroups as a full-time Construction Site Supervisor based in Burr Ridge, IL. The Construction Site Supervisor will oversee construction site team to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety procedures, supervise crew activities, and address job site issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Building Site Supervisor will oversee and direct construction projects from ground-breaking to project closeout
- Strong needs to be able to set daily, weekly and monthly goals to achieve project deliverance in timely manner
- Strong ability to manage and direct subcontractors to make sure work is done with utmost quality and professionalism
- Role requires ~100% travel to venues in designated region
- Performs project punch-list inspections and follow-ups
- Define and understand owner's needs and expectations to ensure the success of the project
- Conduct onsite and project update meetings with Client, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers and representatives
- Review and understand all contract documents (plans, specifications, testing requirements, as-built requirements, close-out requirements, etc.)
- Prepare accurately and timely daily reports, field documentation and project photographs
- Regularly monitor and inspect work being performed to ensure project quality is being achieved
- Ensure that all construction is compliant with applicable contractual requirements, building codes and other standards, as well as, permitting and inspection processes
- Plan, coordinate and manage jobsite logistics
- Oversee safety regulations, quality plan and implement necessary changes
- Maintain quality and ethical standards
- The position is accountable to the company's Senior Project Manager
- Coordinate subcontractors/suppliers/labor/material activities on project construction sites
- Verify time/material work
- Allocate resources for assigned projects
- Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
- Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation
- Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
- Maintain a daily log for the job site’s operations, reporting to management as necessary
- Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Basic math skills to perform calculations while measuring on job sites and to help the surveying crew
- Mechanical skills to use any necessary heavy machinery and equipment
- Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous Commercial Construction experience and/or previous supervisor experience
- Familiarity with construction management software (ProCore, Timberline, Blue Beam, Microsoft Project), as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, emails, flow charts, punch lists
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with drawings, specifications, contract scopes, safety programs, and scheduling
- Ability to be proactive in managing a project schedule, sequencing trades, and implementation of a construction project
- Candidate must be willing to travel
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Prior experience managing construction projects and experience in cost management
- Knowledge of all construction phases and project development and ability to problem solve issues that arise in field
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with various parties including project managers, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors and clients
Experience level:
- minimum 5 year construction experience required
