Job Overview
The AC Swim Club is looking for energetic lifeguards who have a passion for the water and safety. If you share such passions for water and safety, we would like to meet you! This is a seasonal, part time job. The facility is open on the weekends in May, daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and back to weekends between Labor Day to the end of September.
Job Summary
Primary role is to monitor and maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas. Also to creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes patron safety and engagement in accordance with the AC Swim Club policies and procedures. Will also provide assistance and protection to patrons, including responding to emergencies.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Provide continuous uninterrupted scanning of the pool and aquatic area to identify signs of distress or situations that could lead to accidents. Immediately report all hazardous or unsafe conditions to management and take appropriate action.
- Understand and consistently enforce all safety rules and regulations.
- Review / understand all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with training, policies and procedures. Complete related reports as required.
- Play an active role in continuing to identify ways to improve safety standards.
- Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants and other staff.
- Perform basic pool/facility maintenance functions, including preparation for opening and/or closing as needed.
The company may add or change duties from time to time.
Required Certifications
The following current certificates must be provided at the time of the interview:
- Red Cross or equivalent First Aid/CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers.
- Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard certification.
Job Qualifications
- Working towards or achieved High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Service Oriented.
- Strong monitoring and active listening skills.
- Ability to pass a background screening and evaluation.
