What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Projects Editor position at ACBJ?
- Oversee all content related to events
- Work with event coordinator to come up with deadline schedule for events
- Help events coordinator maintain nomination forms
- Drive nominations and conduct own outreach to get the right people nominated in all events
- Organize judges meetings
- Ensure all honorees meet editorial standards
- Once honorees are selected, ensure that all names and companies are vetted to ensure they meet eligibility for age, categories, size, etc.; check names for spelling and style; distribute master list of winners to other departments
- Plan and conceive editorial and event products (print section, online content, visuals, videos, scripts and overall presentation for events) and theme
- Produce content and make assignments to staff or freelancers
- Edit content
- Coordinate and assign all photos for special sections
- Know and apply AP and SFBT style
- Proof print and web stories for style, grammar, clarity and typos as needed
- Over see Executive Profile schedule and content
- Work as a member of management team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years' in an editing, management and/or team leadership role
- Exceptional editor, proofreader, reporter and writer
- Able to guide, contribute to and lead large-scale editorial projects
- Good at multitasking all the time without losing track of anything or losing your mind
- Able to use social media as a newsgathering and dissemination tool
