POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team. As a key partner to the CFO, the Controller will lead day-to-day finance operations, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls that enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Management · Build and continually develop a high performing and effective team of Accountants and Finance Specialists for the network · Manage work allocations, training, problem resolution, performance evaluations and career progression Finance and Accounting Leadership · Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements · Oversee the accounting operations of related corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures. · Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures · Coordinates all audit activity · Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial status · Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate · Support the CFO in engaging the board’s audit and finance committees around issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery · Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program leadership · Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines · Oversee the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments and functions · Provide guidance to and review of the Business Solutions inventory control and contract reporting · Oversee the monthly close Reporting · Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations · Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics · Manage the oversight of budgets and forecasts · Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations Compliance · Create and modify financial protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls · Assist with coordination of information to external auditors for the annual audit · Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements and payroll tax filings Qualifications: * The controller candidate should have minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting. * MBA and or CPA are preferred and at least 5 years of related and progress-responsible leadership in a similar field. |
