JOB
The Adult Continuing Education (ACE) and Reentry Skills Instructor will teach pre-employment classes and other pre-employment-related programs for Workforce Developmen, including teaching finanical literacy, entrepreneurial and essential skill classes. This position requires advanced communication and customer service skills and the ability to motivate adult learners.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Teaches pre-employment training courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting. Teaches the ACE curriculum and prepares students for the WorkKeys test.Teaches financial literacy, entrepreneurial, and essential skill classes and training courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting. Plans lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students, which prepares students for the workforce.Plans and prepares relevant and practical class lessons and monitors student performance.Effectively presents technical information to groups in a classroom or lab environment.Implements various instructional delivery methods, including group or individualized instruction and computer programs that help students prepare for the workforce.Administers TABE and WorkKeys tests to determine individual progress.Creates a climate that encourages and supports learning.Completes and maintains appropriate student registration, attendance, and assessment records and ensures timely data submission for reporting purposes.Maintain and update an inventory of materials on hand for all classes.Works independently when required and takes the initiative to seek out tasks that must be completed.Works a flexible schedule to include evening and/or weekend classes or assignments.Must be eligible to enter any/all Department of Corrections (DOC) facilities to perform the job duties and maintain this status for continued employment.Possesses an understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of a community and technical college.Possesses a sensitivity and commitment to cultural diversity.Complies with any applicable guidelines and policies set forth by the Alabama Community College System and J. F. Ingram State Technical College.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to make independent judgments, solve problems, provide leadership, and work with diverse groups of people.Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and prioritizing multiple tasks.Willing to be flexible with work schedule as workload dictates.Understand and maintain confidentiality and professional integrity.Reliable and punctual.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others internal and external to the College.

D3 ($40,900 - $68,227) D3 $30,675 - $51,171 for a nine-month contract; D3 $10,225 - $17,056 for a three-month contract.
