The Police Department provides for the safety and well-being of the faculty, staff, students, and visitors through crime prevention and control, enforcement of state and federal laws, criminal investigation, traffic and parking supervision, and other services and duties related to maintaining public order.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Respond to and investigate incidents on campus necessitating police involvement, including vehicle accidents, security and safety incidents, and criminal activity.Enforce criminal and traffic laws, make arrests, and issue summons as required.Provide security to College community, including escorting individuals to vehicles late at night and securing college buildings.Detect and report hazardous conditions, including but not limited to potholes, road obstructions, and other dangers.In order to perform these essential functions, the Police Officer must be present at work. Therefore, attendance is an essential function.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Letter(s) must come from current and/or former employers, verifying employment experience to meet minimum required qualifications. Letter(s) must include employment dates and job title and be on official letterhead with an authorized personnel signature.(5) Separate transcripts from each college attended (photocopies will suffice until employed)Applicants must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at time of appointment. All application materials must be submitted as a complete packet and will become the property of the College. Applicants who fail to submit all required information will be disqualified.
