What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registrar position at ACCS?
- Manages college-wide student record and registration operations by planning, implementing, and supervising all activities related to student records from admissions to graduation.
- Develops systems, protocols, and reports to ensure integrity of student transcripts and related academic data in Banner. Ensures compliance and confidentiality of academic records in accordance with FERPA, AACRAO standards, college policies, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversees the process of troubleshooting, identifying, and correcting student academic history, issues and problems.
- Develops strong partnerships to work cooperatively with all departments, divisions, and personnel on campus to ensure consistency and continuity of all registration and records processes college-wide.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for NW-SCC and ACCS enrollment policies and procedures, while assisting with the development, revision, and implementation of records and registration policies and procedures.
- Oversees the design and maintenance of the DegreeWorks software by establishing and executing implementation strategies, scribing requirements, testing, and performing timely upgrades as needed.
- Collaborates with academic department faculty and staff to translate major and degree requirements and establishes processes for maintaining requirements as changes are approved on an annual basis
- Manages all operations in the transfer credit process and prior learning credit process to include evaluation of transcripts, posting of credit, processing and building of transfer credit rules in Banner. Updates and maintains transfer catalogs, equivalencies, and grade files.
- Responsible for beginning- and end-of-term processing in Banner, which may include building of terms and sessions, term activating students, repeat/replace processing, academic action processes, and Dean’s List processing.
- Manages transcript processes for both incoming and outgoing credentials.
- Oversees reverse transfer, graduation processes, and awarding of degrees to include completing and monitoring degree audits and superving the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications with appropriate staff. Assist in the coordination of commencement activities.
- Maintains and safeguards physical and computerized records of Northwest-Shoals Community College which may include student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, class rosters, schedule changes, and grades.
- Assists students with, and trains staff on, processes such as registration, add/drop and withdrawals, academic forgiveness, course loads, enrollment verification, registration changes, and other activities related to student academic records.
- Utilizes Banner student information system to provide accurate and high-quality information, reports, institutional statistics, and data to system office staff, faculty, students, administrators, and third-party contacts (e.g. Clearinghouse).
- Collaborates with Student Financial Services and the Business Office concerning student academic eligibility, withdrawal procedures, nonattendance records, fee assessments, and payment dates.
- Hires, trains, and provides leadership to assigned staff, which includes regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.
- Serves as a Designated School Official for international students.
- Maintains affiliation with appropriate professional organizations and attends workshops and conferences as approved.
- Assists the College in achieving it institutional goals.
- Participates on college committees as required or assigned.
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of five years professional work experience in enrollment management, admissions, registration, or advising in an institution of higher education OR bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of eight years professional work experience in enrollment management, admissions, registration, or advising in an institution of higher education, required.
- Experience working with student information systems such as Banner, required.

SALARY: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System’s Salary Schedule C3-2 ($53,799 - $81,554).
