Job Description
Job Summary
The Parts Manager is responsible for the management of branch parts inventory and parts sales. This position also includes electronic management of parts using company business systems as well as parts research, tracking, and vendor sourcing.
Essential Job Functions
- Promote & sell parts over the phone and to walk-in customers
- Fill parts requirements of the service department
- Review and Enhance performance and processes for maximum efficiency
- Identify and resolve internal/external customer parts issues
- Manage warehouse layout and organization.
- Manage branch parts inventory and meet inventory goals
- Provide input to planning and budgeting
- Identify performance, process, and other expense problems and resolve
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of compressed air system technology, including competitive industries
Additional Job Functions
- May be required to support the sales and service department during special circumstances such as vacation coverage
- Evaluate and reestablish yearly work goals
Experience and Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)
- Computer literacy is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Working knowledge of a Unix like / AS400 like business system or NDS is preferred
- Incorporate time management skills on a continuous basis
- Well developed sales skills including excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
- Proven interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers, including being a team player to create synergy within the office and company
- Basic marketing knowledge
- Ability to handle working in a NON-climate controlled environment for extended periods of time
- Required to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) including steel toed shoes
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must operate forklift vehicle
- Must be able to handle high pressure situations and adapt well to changes in the market
- Prioritize work assignments
Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)
- Associates degree, or 2 to 4 years of parts sales/management experience (industrial sales preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
