Overview
The Retail Regional Manager is primarily responsible for the management and development of a retail sales organization for an assigned territory. The incumbent is responsible for representing Acosta and our principals through the management of retail store coverage, set coverage, or coverage of special projects, and executing objectives as set forth by the principal, Business Manager or the Sales Manager to achieve superior in-store results in assigned territories or stores.

Responsibilities
Some Essential Functions of this Position:
Deliver Sales Fundamentals (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing) goals across all principals on agreed to retail priorities.
Maintain continual improvement of sales coverage and productivity of the Retail Selling Organization.
Monitor and ensure Company policy is followed by the Retail Selling Organization.
Pro-actively communicate with key principals.
Collaborate with supervisors and principals on all major retail initiatives (new product introductions, contests, etc.)
Personally call on and develop relationships with key operations decision-makers which enable Business Managers to achieve the principals’ objectives.
Act as Trainer to others
Acts as lead on projects.
May be assigned to key accounts.
Has proven “Excellent” performance history as Retail Sales Manager.
Serve as a member of Customer Business Teams. In this capacity serve as primary operations contact.
Coordinate theme merchandising events that cross over two or more departments (i.e. holiday merchandising events, in-store demonstration events, etc.)
Expert resource to General Manager and Business Managers on the effectiveness of both full-time and part-time sales personnel.
Expert resource to General Manager and Business Managers for all operations issues with assigned customer.
Assist Business Managers and multi-function resources (Marketing, Sales Technology, etc.) to communicate customer needs, objectives, and future plans.
Coordinate the regional reporting and tracking needs (RW3, surveys, etc.) to ensure consistency and control.
Effectively and properly use technology including RW3, communication of retail priorities, and coverage analyses to have an effective feedback and measurement system.
Request and analyze specific retail conditions information (through RW3, surveys, etc.) to develop data-based analyses and improve retail in-store presence results.
Ensure personal development of Unit Managers and conduct annual Performance Agreements. Oversee the training and development of full-time and part-time representatives (responsibility of Unit Managers).
Understand and optimize selling effectiveness of the Retail Sales Organization. Identify needed training, desired system and work process improvements, and maintain effective balance of store set/surge work and retail store coverage.
Conduct on-going recruiting for new Retail Associates.
Maintain incident files for all Unit Managers in accordance with Company policy.
Conduct retail automobile inspections of assigned personnel.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimal Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
Experience Requirement:
5 years prior retail management experience, food broker and set responsibility experience required.
Prior supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and sales skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must be able to operate a calculator, fax machine, telephone, paper cutter, copier, hammer screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack.
Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time.
Must be willing and able to work in extremely cold environmental conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores.
