What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blender Operator position at Actalent?
Description:
Will start training within various production areas. Packaging, labeling, etc. Then they will start in blending. Will tell them either liquid or powder, follow the batch sheet instructions on how long and how much they will blend. They then send the samples to quality. The volume they do can be challenging. They will gather materials, put into blender, run for a specific time. Can be a powder or liquid. Samples go out to QC. They won't do testing. They will also help package the product when completed.
Liquid blender hold 1600 gallons.
Dry blender goes to a ton.
44,000 lbs. 8 ounces for a sample for inventory. Small blend is probably around 50 lbs on wet and 60 gallons to 1500 gallons.
Lifting:
Largest bag will be 50-55 lbs. They are only used in the powder blending area. They are only lifting those when doing those blends. All based on the order. Sometimes they aren't touching a bag for a few days.
They have a couple of augers that bags of product will be cut and poured into. Will not require them to lift above waist level. Batch sheets can have up to 12 ingredients and as few as two.
Cleanliness is extremely important. Regulations they adhere to: GMP, FDA, FSMA. Not keeping a station clean can be grounds for write-up and termination. Reason for this is they make bacteria and so it is critical that product remains stable because making a mistake in a batch or accidental contamination would be very expensive.
Skills:
Fermentation, GMP, HACCP, spray dryer
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
2-4 years experience in manufacturing powder products (in a GMP environment is preferred)
Experience within GMP
Consistent 2-3 years at each company
