Description:
The Coordinator is a critical role that will be responsible for turning customer POs into functional BOMs.
They will be the go between among all the functions: engineering, sales and operations. It is very important that whoever fills this role has great communication since they will be working with customers. They will turn product designs into BOMs supporting assembly operations, communicating with vendors to support supply chain by ordering and verifying component timelines, addressing production and customer concerns by identifying alternative solutions and providing clarification where needed. They will also help to develop what the future of the role looks like, which perfect state would be more automated and more reliant on CAD, etc.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Coordinate the flow of information to translate customer orders into structured BOMs
- Create and update BOMs for built to order systems in ERP system
- Review orders and follow up with customers/sales/engineering for accuracy
- Support manufacturing by addressing BOM accuracy and changes
- Work with engineering to identify and correct historic BOM inaccuracies and structure
- Use 3D CAD to help edit and develop customer drawings, exploded assembly views, and list parts for BOMs
- Support supply chain through the identification and follow up of custom components for jobs
- Work cross functionally to develop and evolve process and product continuous improvement
