Construction Manager - Large-Diameter Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Construction
A tier-one electric and gas utility in Northwest Indiana is hiring a Construction Manager or Construction Coordinator to oversee one of their largest Large-Diameter Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline construction projects kicking off this month! This project is slated to go for at least the next year, with more work with this team consistently planned out behind it.
This person MUST have experience on Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline projects, specifically dealing with Large-Diameter Steel structures, as this is one of their most complex projects that they need an expert professional to handle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work onsite with inspectors and crews to oversee daily production
- Provide input to Project Manager(s) for project planning and execution on an as-needed basis
- Field Lead to coordinate finalization of the scope, estimated cost, and schedule for the project
- Ensure project is completed within the Company's financial and scheduling guidelines through effective planning, and monitoring of schedules
- Complete end-of-day Progress Reports
- Verify and approve invoices in accordance with company policy and Manual of Approvals
- Evaluate contractor bids and provide input into selection of contractors
- Coordinate and partner with subcontractors to effectively complete projects
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships built on transparency and trust
Job Requirements:
- 10 years of experience with Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline construction projects, specifically with Large-Diameter Steel pipeline
- Experience MUST be in Large-Diameter Steel Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline - Other types of pipeline, oil/gas, material, or sizing will not count
- Large-Diameter experience must be 36"
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with others and be a self-starter
- Must be able to effectively communicate across all cultural and company boundaries
- MUST be able to work onsite in Northwest Indiana 50-80 hours per week
- Any inspection certifications or a PMP certification is preferred but not required
Miscellaneous:
- This will be a long-term opportunity. Candidates must have the ability to work full-time (plus overtime, including weekends) in Northwest Indiana for at least the next 5 years.
- Compensation will depend on specific Natural Gas Pipeline experience.
