What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
• Read and create fabrication drawings and specifications for commercial waste container build projects
• Create and submit RFI's as necessary
• Work closely with fabrication team to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues
• Ability to check/redline the work of other detailers
• Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required
• Communicate with client to resolve layout and/or detail issues when needed
Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years experience preferred
• Associates Degree or equivalent work experiences
• Strong 2D/3D AutoCAD skills / Inventor experience preferred, but not required
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Self-motivated, organized, strong communication skills
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes, procedures, and shop drawings
• Understanding of weld symbols
• Familiarity with AISC standards and practices
• Strong math & geometry skills
