Description:
Summary:
Create design and drawing products using AutoDesk tools within the Project Support and Design Engineering group. Drawings exhibit application of NCS professional standards, company engineering standards, and integration of legacy with modern design work. Assigned work supports Manufacturing, R&D, Innovation, and corporate functions with productive and cost effective solutions as requested.
Responsibilities:
• Create drawings and models from written and verbal specifications obtained from internal and external customers.
• Handle complex design assignments under minimal supervision.
• Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule. Respond to all activities with professional, accurate, and timely design products.
• Maintain application of drafting standards and design documentation archival.
• Work closely with peer Designers and Engineers to ensure coordination of design effort is maintained.
• Perform inspection of facilities related to as-built compliance (both pre and post project), field verification of spatial needs, and ideation for design optimization.
• Review drawings for completeness and accuracy. Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications.
• Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
• Work with multiple drawings sets from multiple projects in different stages of completion.
• Identify existing equipment in the field, take accurate measurements and replicate onto drawings in elevation and plan view.
• Provide drawings suitable for each phase: preliminary proposals, plant reviews, and quotes for project approval, pre-bid package for new equipment purchases and/or mechanical construction, vendor drawing approvals, equipment installation package and final as-builts.

2. Communication proficiency – ability to interact with all customers verbally and in written form enabling efficient idea and thought crossover.
3. Problem solving & analysis – ability to use logic and reason to identify opportunities. Ability to translate to others, through reason and process, resulting in problem resolution.
4. Thoroughness & diligence – ability to understand and apply detailed design standards, design codes, and outlined design needs in logical and organized manner to design work. Apply diligence in maintaining standards and drawing archival that allows efficient workflow.
Job Requirements:
1. Requires an Associates in related design discipline or experience equivalent required.
2. At least 4 years of experience mechanical design preferably in the consumer goods industry.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoDesk products.
4. Experience with 3D design work or willingness to learn and adopt new technology.
5. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Possess strong organizational and project planning skills to effectively organize multiple coincidental projects.
7. Displays strong interpersonal and communications skills.
8. Knowledge of National CAD Standards.
9. Willingness to travel on a low to moderate basis.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Know Autodesk software’s – AutoCAD, Plant3D, Navisworks, be able to work in 2D and 3D
• Industrial Mfg Design
• Experience with Packaging Design and Process Design is best
• Industry – food preferred but open
o Industrial Mfg experience – equipment, utilities, piping
• Experience with Piping and Equipment lay outs, piping layouts, facility layouts.
o Experience with mezzanines and platforms
