What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Design Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
Our client is currently seeking a Junior Distribution Design studies candidate to join their grounding studies team in Winnipeg. The ideal candidate will be interested in learning and engaging in design studies for soil and material testing for the grounding and prevention of electrification of electrical equipment in a plant site or within a substation. The ideal candidate will have a couple years of experience and will be motivated to run tests in this area and apply theory to the engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
- Distribution design exp.
- 2-4 years exp doing distribution power design
- Experience on 10KV projects
- Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent with a relevant combination of experience or degree
- ETAP and other power systems studies knowledge (can get trained on the majority of these)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, OneNote).
- Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The operation of Utility Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based applications.
- Experience working in an engineering services environment
NICE TO HAVES:
- Working use of AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
