What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Facilities Technician position at Actalent?
The General Facilities & Lab Technician is assigned the responsibility for the site in regards to cleaning, minor maintenance, and grounds keeping, to make sure the production environment is in a suitable, compliant condition for Safe Food/Safe Feed and/or FSSC certification to be maintained. This includes all areas of the site, including the laboratory.

- 9 month Contract to Hire Opportunity
- $18/hr, x1.5 for OT
- Full Time
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s license
- Organization, time management, and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Participate in laboratory testing, lab maintenance, and cleaning when needed. Assist in documentation and organization.
- General grounds maintenance may include; mowing and weed maintenance, chemical application, and grounds debris removal.
- Sweep and power-wash floors, walls, and equipment in process areas utilizing industrial equipment for larger projects.
- Remove dust, corn and feed products from facility grounds, building floors and walls on all levels and in all areas of the facility, including atop silos.
- Operate heavy equipment for maintenance and cleanup of process and grounds areas (skid steers, loaders, industrial vacuum equipment & other equipment as needed).
- Identify and communicate equipment repair needs through maintenance workflow system
- Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental and food safety compliance at all times
- Maintain a team environment at all times and champion in the community
