What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geologist position at Actalent?
Description:
- Prepare daily reports and documentation for construction teams
- Familiar with RCRA and OSHA regulations
- Excavation and loading trucks
- Excavation of TCE-contaminated soil – hazardous waste
- Monitoring wells that are abandoned – they need to be pulled out of the ground
- Concrete and materials that need to be transported to the landfill
- 1200 tons of soil – needs to be excavated and mixed with material to make it non hazardous
- Complete Phase I and II investigations
- Split time between office and field 50/50
- Work on large-scale projects that are millions of dollars, and support construction efforts as a supervisor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Geology (must be able to become licensed down the line).
- OSHA 40 hour
- Soft skills: reliable, flexible/adaptable, solution-oriented, able to make mistakes/take risks, resourceful, eager to learn
- Experience completing phase I and II ESAs
- Has a reliable source of transportation
