An Engineering firm that supports Utility projects including Substation and Transmission projects is seeking a Lead Engineer to join a team in Houston, Texas. This is an Engineering Manager position, working under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, performing aspects of engineering design and application of basic transmission line, substation design and structural design principles for existing and new build substations and transmission structures. The position involves the capabilities to model lines using AutoCAD, PLS-CADD or similar software, review other engineer’s design work, and to coordinate internally with other team members as well as with the client directly. The position will also consist of leading a group of engineers including design review, assigning tasks/projects and performance evaluations.

Hard Skills

• 8 years of engineering experience in Power Delivery, either with Transmission, Substation or Distribution projects

• Experience with Design software ie AutoCAD, PLS CADD or similar software 

• Understanding of design and calculations for transmission, substation or distribution drawings 

• Previous Leadership or Management experience required leading a team, or the desire to obtain a management/leadership role

• PE Certification required
