What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Designer position at Actalent?
Description:
- Creates drawings and 3D models necessary for estimating. Creates detailed drawings & three dimensional CAD files for Forge product design, die design, secondary tooling design, and process design to meet company and customer requirements.
- Focused around development and design of product, tool and die design, and understanding how designs fit into the manufacturing process.
- Performs record keeping to all documents, file management, and drawing management for the Engineering department.
- Assist quoting for potential new jobs when necessary
- Manage all customer drawings.
- Provide CAD files upon request to Tool shop, CMM, and Outside Vendors Upon request.
- Performs activities for product continuous process improvement including calculations to reduce steel bar crop end loss.
