What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Actalent?
Hiring a Mechanical Designer for the #1 Mechanical Engineering Consulting Firm in the US, working on high-profile commercial projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This person will work in a project team setting and support the designers and engineers in their services group. This person will be supporting multiple systems such as HVAC, Ducts, and Piping as part of a multi-disciplinary project team to produce mechanical design/construction drawings and specifications for commercial and industrial facilities.
Their job duties will include but not limited to the following:
-Produce 2D and 3D Mechanical drawings for field installation and coordination with other sub-contractor trades.
-Participates in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining budget and constructability requirements.
-Confers with project management staff to resolve issues reviews drawings with the production and field teams and adjusts, as necessary.
-Travel to various project sites as required, but infrequently.
Work Environment:
- 9-5 pm. Monday-Friday
- In-office mainly with work from home flexibility
- 100 person office in Hartford County.

Qualifications:
1.) Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Drafter.
2.) AutoCAD experience.
3.) HVAC/ Duct/ Piping experience.
4.) Ability to go out into the field and take measurements and determine work.
