Position Summary: The Manufacturing Technician will assemble and test Radiological and Explosive Detection instruments per established procedures (routers, build procedures, control plans, etc.).
JOB DUTIES:
- Assemble mechanical parts, as instructed in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, etc.) into sub-units or complete units.
- Mechanical assembly concepts to include pneumatic and optical micro assemblies
- Familiarity with performing leak checks and vacuum seals on equipment
- Wire electronic components as instructed in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, etc.) into sub-units or complete units
- Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units, including sub-assembly, process assembly, inspection, modifications, upgrades, and rework.
- Completes production/quality related documentation
- Performs work in accordance with quality and engineering standards
- Responsible for inspecting and testing their own work before moving to next routing step
- Keep work area clean and organized as to present a professional work environment
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/production environment
- Overtime required when needed
- Electro-Mechanical experience with:
o Schematic reading and comprehension (Mechanical and Electrical)
o Measuring tools (Multi-meters, Continuity testers, tape measure, calipers, etc.)
o Hand tools (Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Torque tools, Small power tools)
PREFERRED:
- Experience with chemical detection equipment
- Associated degree in electronic field
- Certifications (Current or Non-Current)
o IPC-610
o IPC-620
o J-Standard 001
o Quality controlled environment
