What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Technologist (Micro) position at Actalent?
Seeking a fulltime Laboratory Technician, who will work in the Microbiology department of the lab. The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for timely microbiology department samples, preparing analytical standards and maintaining all related documentation according to our laboratory standard operating procedures. Day to Day:
- Utilizes Roche machinery in the Microbiology lab
- Work in high-volume sample testing
- Performs gram staining, bacteriology, parasitology and utilizes WASP for plating samples.
- Performs routine orders such as urine cultures, throat cultures and respiratory cultures
- Demonstrates competency in identifying different bacteria and organisms.
- Demonstrates competency in the performing of Microbiology Quality Control procedures for organisms, reagents, automation, and manual kits.
Shift:
9am to 5pm, M-F with alternating weekends
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Lab Science
- ASCP certificate (or eligible)
- Micro Lab Experience
