OBD Test Engineer

Job Description:

Project Purpose: Document on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for powertrain technologies needed to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements.

Project Expectations:

- Review existing HPCM (Hybrid Powertrain Control Module) OBD/diagnostic software.

- Develop DVMs (Design Verification Methods) for OBD systems and related documentation (Calibration Guidelines, Diagnostics Operations Summary, Fault Demonstration Methods/test cases, CARB decks).

- Execute diagnostic routines, report test results, and give recommendations to improve system reliability and durability.

- Perform HIL/SIL, on-road, emissions, and/or dynamometer data collection to validate and calibrate diagnostic monitoring capability of new powertrain technologies.

- Identify and aid in resolving OBD issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills:

• Experience with OBD diagnostics and test cases
• Experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and validating embedded software
• Programming experience using modern software languages with knowledge of embedded software development tools/processes
• Knowledge and use of Boundary Diagrams, P Diagrams, and FMEAs
• Excel and Matlab working knowledge
