Phlebotomist

***PART TIME - 30 HOURS***

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Responsibilities include:

• Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.

• Clearly and courteously explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.

• Demonstrating techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

• Fully understanding all physicians' orders.

• Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by the test order.

• Checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.

• Packaging specimens for transport.

• Storing specimen samples according to required temperatures, placing samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately labeling, and following specific procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport.

• Understanding and complying with OSHA and DEP regulations.

• Attending annual department trainings.

• Answering telephone calls and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Hard Skills

• 1 year of phlebotomy experience
• Straight Needle Experience
• Processing Experience
• Experience with Hard Sticks
• Genecology experienced preferred

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).
