What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Actalent?
Actalent is currently partnering with a laboratory in the Mount Pleasant area in need of a Phlebotomist to join their team. Please see below for details and qualifications!
Description:
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc
- Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100 correct
- Package specimens for transport
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Comfortability to work in a fast paced environment

- Entry Level
- 1st shift M-F
- $17-18/hr, BOE
