Description (works similar hours to manufacturing employees): - Plan and compile records related to the ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping of materials, supplies. - Develop, plan, direct and control the day-to-day scheduling of components builds through effective scheduling of machines, assembly lines, benches, and material flow in order to meet customer schedules and sales forecast - Responsible for the scheduling indirect hourly work team in the facility ensuring the team has the resources, skills, training, materials, and information to schedule the daily production. - Responsible for reviewing production schedules and coordinating the flow of materials and manufacturing of finished goods to the Customer. - This position will also coordinate continuous improvement activities through process improvements and cost reduction initiatives for both manufacturing and supply chain teams. - Manage customer delivery expectations Job Responsibilities: • Prepares requisitions or other documents for the purchase of new or additional productive stock. • Initiate action to represent the customers’ interests on a daily basis in order to achieve on-time delivery and inventory goals. • Issue work orders and work order packets to ensure appropriate scheduling of built components. • Assists in inventory control though proper working of the material planning tools available in the NAV database. • Compiles data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, customer order boards, and various NAV reports. • Assist in the purchase of shipping and packaging materials for service and shipping department i.e. cartons, pallets, film, banding etc. • This position deals with all the inherent problems of insuring timely delivery of productive material required for all manufacturing departments on a daily basis. • Maintain healthy and professional relationships with all vendors, customers and internal departments. • Schedule and expedite material as per plant requirements. • Root cause analysis of any customer complaints or material shortages. • Represent Materials on PIE events, Kaizen events, 8D for DMNs, and Continuous Improvement/Safety teams. • Inform vendor of current requirements and if necessary prioritize. • Individual may be required to work daily and/or weekend overtime • Reconcile daily production, review previous day payouts and keep system orders synchronized with customer orders and demand • Coordinate with CSR’s for past due and production priorities • Coordinate with production manager both daily and weekly schedules and recommend resource allocations and line changes to drive throughput and efficiency • Supervise shop floor packages, reports and labels to the relative product lines in both manufacturing and assembly • Work daily with Manufacturing leaders to level load production based on meeting customer demand and maximizing production efficiency. • Work with the shipping and receiving departments, ensuring on-time delivery, minimal expedites, and receiving controls to maintain inventory accountability • Ensure the appropriate liaison between manufacturing and materials, supporting group activities or programs as necessary for implementation of manufacturing goals • Train and develop team members on work processes and requirements to ensure functioning in a safe and efficient environment • Facilitate the performance evaluation process • Suggests changes in work methods and use of systems to improve efficiency both within Manufacturing, Materials and Shipping/Receiving
