Description:

Production Technician

Production Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of PLC-controlled, robotic and material handling systems for a wide range of applications.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

Basic computer skills

Strong Verbal Communication

Basic-moderate electrical and mechanical aptitude

Must have exposure to industrial electrical components and AC and DC wiring procedures.

Control System Aptitude

Industrial automation knowledge including PLC, Motion Control, Servo Drives, VFDs, Sensors, Material Handling Systems, Hydraulic and Robotics Systems

Robotic Systems include, but are not limited to Fanuc, OTC Daihen & Yaskawa (Motoman).

Maintenance / Preventive Maintenance experience

Responsibilities:

Needs to troubleshoot the issue and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the computer systems controlling the process.

Ability to work with hand tools and various instruments

Ability to use measurement tools to verify that components meet print specifications

Ability to read and update electrical schematics

Ability to work on a professional team with a willingness to learn and grow with the company.

Work as a member of a production team, cooperating with FPG’s management in an effective manner to perform work of a high quality, with no errors.

Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities described above and required to perform assigned tasks.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Personal Characteristics Required:

The ability to work with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a courteous and tactful manner to resolve problems.

Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action given the particular situation.

Must be able to resolve problems and make effective decisions under pressure.

Good verbal and communication skills required.

A motivated, self-starter with the ability to follow directions and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.

Maintain professional appearance/demeanor and a positive attitude under stress.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
