What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Superintendent position at Actalent?
Description:
First project is a 18 month sports complex in Marion, IL. Complex includes baseball fields, soccer fields, parking, some structures around facilities. There will be many phases to this project, but this will be first phase. Slated to end around Q2 of 2025. Scope of project includes retaining walls, streets, utilities, turf fields, building structures, a dome around one field, etc. Will be around $30 million for first phase. Second phase is an additional $30 million. Will include pickleball facility, golf facility, etc. This is a salary position. Company will be self-performing 60% of scope, but will have foreman leading those crews.
Travel:
mileage reimbursement for mob/de-mob
$159/day per diem
Will schedule home rotations around certain project schedule deadlines
Project is kicking off now. Can have someone on site in 2 weeks.
General job description:
- Provide coordination and supervision of design-build and bid-build projects on sports complex facilities.
- Collaboration with clients, design team and contractors for project success
- Build/maintain jobsite culture of “Safety First”
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance
- Daily coordination and management of subcontractors and jobsite logistics
- Collect, review and submit shop drawings, product data, test reports, etc.
- Build/update construction schedule and ‘look ahead’ schedules
- Review estimates with operations team to ensure logistical/site considerations are included
- Author and execute M.O.P.s (Method of Procedure)
- Complete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo journal of progress

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must have:
- 8 years experience as a site superintendent on ground up projects. Prefer hospitality or commercial. Understanding of civil scope on construction projects and have supervised this scope on previous projects (streets, parking, retaining walls, utilities, etc.)
- OSHA 30
- Strong communication
- Have utilized ProCore/Bluebeam (or something similar) daily to assist in running jobs
