What are the responsibilities and job description for the QC Microbiologist Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
An FDA-registered, FSSC 22000-certified cGMP manufacturer of high purity specialty chemicals for pharmaceutical, biotech, nutritional, food and other markets looking to add a QC Microbiology Technician to their team.
Tasks
• Ensure that samples are properly labeled and stored to prevent contamination.
• Prepare media for testing and media melt.
• Perform a variety of tests and experiments on microorganisms, including gram stains and performing pH of media.
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly calibrated. Report any equipment malfunctions.
• Environmental monitoring testing and documenting the environmental monitoring program in a high care packing room as needed.
• Trend data efficiently
• Log equipment temperature readings daily
• Calibrate instruments as required
• Order supplies, stock, and clean laboratory
• Maintain documentation
• Any tasks deemed necessary for betterment of Jost Quality
Ability to:
• Communicate effectively, orally, and in writing

• Maintain a proactive and positive attitude
• Communicate effectively with shipping & production to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
Knowledge of:
• Microbiological techniques including rapid release methods and aseptic techniques.
• Qualifying environmental monitoring processes
• Experience in the application of microbiological techniques such as air monitoring, water, testing, surface monitoring
• Basic analytical laboratory equipment
• Microbiological testing equipment
• MS Office software package
