An FDA-registered, FSSC 22000-certified GMP chemical manufacturer of high-purity specialty chemicals for pharmaceutical, biotech, nutritional, food, and other markets. They were recently reclassified as an API to support pharmaceutical products as well as food etc.
Job Description:
- Works under the direction of microbiology supervisor.
- Conducts microbiological assays and performs routine environmental monitoring.
- Tasks
- Conduct testing such as pour plate, membrane filtration, swab testing, water testing, enumeration of organisms, growth promotion testing, and routine environmental monitoring.
- Conduct organism identification as needed.
- Create purchase orders and order supplies as needed.
- Trend data efficiently
- Calibrate instruments and perform instrument qualifications as required.
- Log equipment temperature readings daily.
- Open investigations, as necessary
- Complete change controls for document issues.
- Gram stains and provide morphological characteristics.
- Interface with other departments daily to answer questions or communicate sample status.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or related science; or equivalent combination of bachelor’s degree and pertinent, progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly related industry.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a microbiology laboratory is required
- Needs to demonstrate mastery of micro techniques on resume
- Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, food, or other highly regulated industries preferred
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related science; or equivalent combination of Bachelor’s degree and pertinent, progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
- One year of experience in a microbiology laboratory; or
- Associate’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related science and five years’ pertinent and progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industries.
