Job Description
Test Technicians help perform quality assurance for prototype vehicles and/or prototype components in the Test & Development group. This is not a production role. These positions are to help test new designs and design improvements to scissor lifts and other similar construction equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on testing of heavy equipment, focusing 70% of the time on hydraulics and electronics.
- Install various types of instrumentation (pressure ports, temperatures, displacements, speed, etc.) as well as the data acquisition system (Somat eDAQ).
- Operate test machines in accordance with Internal Standard Test Procedures and External Standards.
- Communicate and record any machine issues encountered during the build.
- Support the Test and Development process improvement activities.
- Perform tests of systems and components to assure proper functionality, focusing on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, excluding the internal components of the power unit (motor).
- Troubleshoot systems, perform basic failure analysis, and follow detailed test procedures.
- Fabricate test fixtures, including establishing appropriate instrumentation, test sequences, and procedures.
- Routinely work with a data acquisition system (EDAQ system).
Essential Skills
- Proven mechanical aptitude and interest in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems troubleshooting.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Proven ability to use MS Office and write documentation.
- Basic computer skills.
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Comfortable with heights as testing involves going up in lifts.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
