JOB TYPE: Full time. Must be able to work 4-5 days a week at least 2 patients a day and flexibility to work overtime as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
This individual provides professional nursing care to patients needing Dialysis services in the acute hospitals and sub-acute facilities that have contracted with the agency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFICATIONS:
Plans and provides patient care for the pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in the hospital in accordance with the physician orders, agency’s policy and procedures as well as hospital policy and procedures.
Provides quality direct patient care and renal replacement therapies independently, in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner.
Supervises and directs patient care of other teammates in the treatment area that may or may not be licensed.
Interacts and communicates with hospital partners in a collaborative, respectful manner, gives pre/post-treatment report through appropriate reporting process to hospital primary RN/Staff
Documents patient’s physical assessment, vital signs, treatment reviews and observation inpatient medical records and brings issues to the attention of the physician and primary nurse
Documents, evaluates and implements dialysis physician's orders.
Analyzes patient assessment, dialysis orders, and laboratory results then discusses issues, if any, with the nephrologist
Communicates emergency life-threatening complications and related incidents to supervisor, hospital staff, and the nephrologist.
Provides initiation and discontinuation of the prescribed renal replacement therapy, including but not limited to formulating a plan per physician orders, verifying safety and measures are in place and complied with, administering medications or other appropriate treatments, and documenting all activity appropriately on the company's approved forms and documentation tool.
Attends hospital orientation, homeroom meetings, and mandatory in-services as required
Verifies accurate charges and documentation are submitted in a timely manner
Demonstrates the ability to learn and perform modalities (hemodialysis, PD, CRRT, Apheresis)
EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE:
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where practicing
Hemodialysis nursing experience in an acute or chronic setting
Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN), Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) and/or Certified Hemodialysis Nurse (CHN), preferred
EXPERIENCE:
At least 1 year RN experience; medical/surgical (Med/Surg), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), and/or emergency room (ER)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ESSENTIAL:
Willingness to work overtime as required due to the nature of the acute hemodialysis.
Flexibility to travel to multiple hospitals within the assigned region.
Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift 40lbs.
