Who we are looking for:
The Sr. Tax Accountant, Corporate Tax is responsible for facilitating and leading the tax compliance and reporting processes for a company. This role analyzes complex financial data, prepares and reviews tax returns, ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations, and provides guidance and support to the organization as needed. The Sr. Tax Accountant, Corporate Tax ensures all applicable changes in tax law and regulation are captured. This role identifies opportunities in tax planning and executes tax audit and inquiry requests.
What you will do:
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Monitor and support all aspects of tax to include income tax, sales and use tax, franchise tax and other taxes.
Support leadership with tax planning, research, compliance, tax memos, and monitoring of federal and state tax law changes and relevance to the business.
Prepare and review income and franchise tax returns and supporting documents for federal, state, international and local jurisdictions in collaboration with third-party tax service providers.
Preparation of the tax quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and related 10-Q/10-K tax disclosure requirements, including analysis for tax general ledger accounts and related reconciliations, calculation of effective tax rate and the current and deferred tax analysis.
Prepare/review calculation of federal and state quarterly income/franchise tax estimates and extensions.
Participate in tax audits and handle tax notices received from taxing authorities.
Maintain the tax calendar to track important tax deadlines and compliance requirements.
Manage preparation of documentation and evidence of internal controls for accounting for income taxes, in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Prepare sales tax returns, including research, exemption and process documentation, including assistance with sales tax refunds.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting or related field
5 years experience with ASC 740, international tax, and state and local tax, including sales tax experience is a plus.
CPA license or equivalent training/experience required.
Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be detail-oriented, analytical, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines with accuracy.
Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel required and One Source tax software preferred.
Compensation: $84,000-$95,000 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's relevant experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
