Job Reports To: President Ohio/ENC


Job Summary

Position is to run the Ohio division as regional publisher with the exception of Defiance.

This position is responsible for managing activities from production through print and electronic content

distribution, accounting, renewals and circulation, marketing, advertising, and special projects. This is a customer

facing position and is a pivotal role balancing customer satisfaction with corporate objectives. The Publisher will

have a unique opportunity to be involved with multiple internal departments dealing with editorial functions,

production, technology, finance, and circulation in various levels of activity as dictated by the current and future

needs. Publisher act as the primary client liaison and are chiefly responsible for receiving customer communications

and achieving ongoing account objectives as well as addressing concerns. In addition to overseeing the internal

operations, the Publisher will also endeavor to improve the financial and market impacts of their assigned

publications.


Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Leadership - Provides leadership and management for the units. Reflects the values of the corporation’s vision and mission, in developing annual operating and long-range plans.
  • Management - Sets unit policies and procedures in accordance with corporate objectives and policies, in order that products and services are viable and maintain adequate contribution. Develops short and long range goals, and implements plans for their accomplishment.
  • Self-Development - Represents unit in the community, staying attuned to its needs and developing trends in order to create and maintain viable products/services, and be viewed as an excellent corporate citizen.
  • Customer Service - Supports and encourages excellent customer service and the development of training programs in order that employees address customer needs throughout the company.


Job Functions

The successful Publisher must be a flexible, self-starter, attentive to details, diplomatic, able to provide direction, and able to multi-task. The Publisher will work with different personality types and across a number of publications with distinct and individual services and specifications. Numerous projects for multiple accounts may be in progress simultaneously, leading to complex scheduling, regular workload balancing, and constant multi-tasking. Candidates for this position should have strong interpersonal skills and client orientation and exhibit an ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts as a team member as well as a team leader.


Essential Functions

  • Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values.
  • Initiate and nurture effective, professional relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Assist in developing financial forecasts, monitor budgets and make budget and/or activities adjustments accordingly to meet objectives.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews on the accounts.
  • Drive revenue growth by maximizing existing and developing additional sources of revenue.
  • Provide direction to Marketing on account marketing plan development and implementation.
  • Resolve client or internal conflicts related to assigned accounts.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from publishing clients and/or internal staff regarding assigned publishing accounts.
  • Create annual account publishing reports and present to the clients.
  • Attend client and industry meetings as needed.
  • Execute the established sales strategy
  • Train and develop staff with a heavy emphasis on sales training
  • Maintain acceptable levels of account receivables and meet deadlines


Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5- 7 years of experience in the print media industry.


Technology Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.


Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Salary : $45,200 - $57,200
