Job Summary:
The Ädelbrook, Inc Assistant Director of Residential will provide supervision and oversight of the development, coordination, training and implementation of treatment services and fidelity to the established treatment models practiced at Ädelbrook, Inc. This will include requests from other agencies for specific services and assessments within the scope of practice. The Assistant Director of Residential is clinically responsible for the oversight of multiple levels of services in delivering state of the art, evidenced based behavioral and developmental services. S/he/they maintains the collaboration of clinical services with all other professional services, including contracted, to assure positive outcomes for the residents. S/he/they works closely with the Director of Residential who have administrative responsibility for program implementation, coordination and transitions. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Director of Residential for administrative oversight and the Executive Vice President for clinical oversight.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the clinical treatment service programs for Ädelbrook, providing clinical oversight, ensuring that programs operate within established outputs and outcomes.
  • Provides supervision, weekly, to all program clinicians as determined appropriate.
  • Works closely with the Director of Residential Programs, in selecting and monitoring intakes and discharges of residents.
  • Ensures that communication and collaboration between clinical services staff members and leadership team members in each of the Ädelbrook programs is developed and maintained at a professional level.
  • Is responsible for identification, implementation, evaluation of (using outcome measures) and adherence to the treatment model and procedures.
  • Ensures that documentation and competencies are current with all treatment plans, that all required reporting is completed in a timely fashion, and meets best practice standards. Reporting includes: intakes, monthly and quarterly reports, discharge summaries, Beacon Health reports, outcome measures, as required. 
  • Participates in clinical rounds with the consulting Psychiatrist, Director of Residential and oversees the treatment team process.
  • May be asked to support a small caseload.
  • Identifies professional development needs of clinical staff and works with the Training Academy to find resources to meet those needs.
  • Participates in leadership and treatment team meetings on a regular basis, ensuring quality collaboration and integration of all treatment services.
  • Provides documentation of the clinical performance, of regular and contracted professional staff, to their administrative supervisors for annual performance evaluations or as requested. Makes recommendations to the Chief Human Resources Officer on applicants for positions and/or promotions.
  • Attends state, governmental and community initiatives, activities and meetings that support continued improvement of the programs and mission of the agency as requested.
  • Ensures that all DCF contracts, licensing, educational and COA best practices are followed throughout all Ädelbrook programs.
  • Responds to program concerns expressed by the Department of Children and Families, when required.
  • Performs all other duties, including research for new program initiatives and writes reports as requested by the Executive Vice President and/or the Director of Residential.
 
Education, experience and other Qualifications:
 A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work from an accredited institution is required as is the respective licensure. At least eight years of experience in the behavioral health care field and at least three years of supervisory experience are required. The Assistant Director of Residential must have a proven track record of successful implementation of clinical programming. S/he must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with other agency employees, community service organizations, and the State Departments.  The ability to work with persons of diverse ethnic, economic, educational and religious backgrounds is required as are excellent verbal and written communication skills.
