Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking a motivated and committed Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join the new manufacturing operations in OREGON, OH (Right outside of Toledo, OH)
The ideal candidate will have strong personal leadership, vision, organizational and communication abilities, technical and HR background in manufacturing. This is a hands-on, involved role for someone looking for an opportunity to make a tangible impact in the manufacturing operations and people function of a automotive parts manufacturing plant that is brand new.
The Human Resources HR Generalist administers and supports all activities of the Employee Life Cycle; Recruiting, implement onboarding & assist with Employee development. Also assists with day to day activities including benefits, investigations, employee counseling and support to supervisors.
The following are the major duties and responsibilities of the HR Generalist:
- Implement established HR Practices and Procedures to the new facility
- Oversee the interview and hiring process including resume review, screening, and interview scheduling and checking references. Partner with employment agencies for some positions.
- Responsible for enhancement and implementation of robust orientation and onboarding processes
- Assists with managing HRIS to create and manage active and inactive personnel files within the guidance of employment law and best practices
- Responsible for payroll documentation to Corporate Payroll Specialist and employee attendance along with supervisors
- Helping to drive improvement in site specific KPI’s
- Manager FMLA/Leave of Absences
- May administer workers compensation claims and serve as liaison to Worker’s Compensation insurance administration
- Support Management staff in Safety, Engagement, and other employee activities

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years HR experience in the manufacturing industry is required; HR in the automotive industry is preferred but not required
- Experience with HRIS Systems
- Have a strong critical thinking and labor law knowledge
- Understand how to influence and support management decisions
- Have understanding of the differences between Union and Non-Union facilities
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or the equivalent in work experience and education.
- Training or experience with EH&S preferred but not required
- Team player with positive attitude and excellent communication skills. He/she will take initiative to plan and organize as needed.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification in Human Resources a plus
Physical and Working Environment
- Works primarily in an office environment – little physical effort; some time will be spent in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dusts, and mechanical hazards
- Occasional standing and walking
- Continuous sitting
- Frequently required talking, hearing, and understanding;
- This position will compile and analyze data (mental processes)
- Assist and speak with people (interaction processes)
- Tend to, handle and control equipment, paperwork and files; (manual processes)
Salary and Benefits
Adler Pelzer offers a competitive pay and benefits package as well as the opportunity to grow one’s career.
The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
