We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive large-scale programs on the Digital Media Program Management team. This position will initially report to the Vice President of Program Management and will require a leader who will be plugged in to lead and course-correct various critically important projects. The Challenge
Own the Outcome – always focus on the customer impact and be able to articulate it in business and technical conversations.
Take personal responsibility for the success and health of the programs under your care. Commitments are promises kept.
Build and coordinate all aspects of a program, including: detailed project plans, resource allocations, risks/issues remediation, status reporting, budget management, and serve as the primary “go-to” person for project details.
Maintain a deep, technical end-to-end understanding of the solution being built, its upstream/downstream dependencies and impacts, and the resulting customer journey experienced by our users.
Propose solutions, consult on platform/roadmap changes. Champion long lasting architecture along w/ documentation.
Shield team members by answering both technical and business-related questions on behalf of the team.
Lead multiple concurrent projects and programs varying in size/scope/complexity, spanning across several different teams and organizations.
Be sought after by leadership for “the real story” and craft communications that can be consumed at different levels of the organization – from executive-level presentations to materials consumed by engineering/program teams.
Proactively identify risks in all assigned areas; work with teams and management to mitigate these risks before they become issues.
Develop your own well-informed point of view, and influence people at all levels: from front-line team members to VPs, SVPs, and C-level executives, communicating continuously with partners throughout the organization.
Understand, surface, and articulate technical challenges. Navigate the team to the option that delivers the best customer experience.
"Set the table" to ensure success, and ensure all team members clearly understand the goals, expectations, and success criteria.
Continually pursue delivery excellence by increasing team velocity, efficiency, and throughput.
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree required
12 years of proven experience in managing global cross functional programs. Previous experience as a developer is a huge plus.
We love someone who is extremely organized with outstanding attention to detail; understands the what, why, when, how and why needed to drive outstanding solutions.
Be curious! Understand and learn the business, technology, product, and processes without being asked.
Understand cloud-based software development, web services, APIs, and cloud computing.
Self-starter! Extensive program management experience with large-scale initiatives. Background in PMO-best practices a strong plus.
Able to effectively modulate the presentation of information based on your audience: everyone from a C-level executive to an Individual Contributor.
Experience leading broad programs across organizations in a matrixed, globally-diverse workforce.
Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies in an always-on, services-based infrastructure/architecture.
Skilled at leading design and technical trade-off conversations to closure.
Experience with applications such as Jira, or other backlog management tools and project management tools.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $138,600 -- $252,100 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
