What are the responsibilities and job description for the Addictions Psychiatry Nurse position at Adult and Child Health?
Description
Our full-time, non-exempt (hourly), Addictions LPN position helps to support our mission and team so we can work in the most efficient and effective way. You will work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, but have the opportunity for flexible scheduling. You will work out of our downtown location.
The Addictions LPN position provides medication training and support for the purpose of monitoring medication compliance, providing education and training about medications, wellness, monitoring medication side effects and providing other nursing/medical assessments. This position will serve as the liaison between the consumers Primary Care Provider and the treatment team.
What You'll Do
- Assisting with clinic compliance
- Completing other tasks as assigned regarding patient care i.e. referrals, voicemails, patient encounters, patient education, rooming of patients, and clinic procedures
- Responsible for urine and blood collection and processing
- Reading test results as ordered by Providers and the completion of all forms involved in these procedures
- Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure
- Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment after completion of detoxification
- Medication education and training

Requirements
- BLS required and current licensure in the state of Indiana as Licensed Practical Nurse
- One-year previous experience in behavioral health
- Ability to provide care to those with chemical dependency without judgment, by exercising care and compassion
- Must hold a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own, insured, transportation
