What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor position at Advance EMS?

Advance EMS is currently hiring an Operations Supervisor to assist with the day-to-day EMS Operations.

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:

  • Assists with planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of the delivery of emergency medical services by Advance EMS, Ltd. including, but not limited to MICU, ALS, & BLS emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports.
  • Manages fleet maintenance.
  • Coordinates with all EMT field personnel, operations, and dispatch departments to ensure appropriate delivery of EMS services and ETAcompliance.
  • Acquires and maintains working knowledge of County, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and medical protocols dealing with the delivery of pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical services.
  • Assists with the preparation and administration of EMS operations, responsible for all EMS medical supplies ordering for highest efficiency, and placing medical equipment in service.
  • Supervises the effective operation, utilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and medical supply inventory to keep equipment well maintained and focus on loss prevention.
  • Ensures all patient care reports and supporting documentation is complete and delivered in a timely manner; Also Ensuring that all documentation is scanned and sent to our billing department in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a backup Medic on emergency and non-emergency calls as needed by dispatch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with maintenance and the day to day Operations.
  • Assists with hiring and training of new personnel.
  • Coordinates with all Field personnel, and dispatch department to ensure appropriate delivery of all EMS services.
  • Ensures the maintenance of all applicable reports, equipment & EMS vehicle records.
  • Makes recommendations for the development, formulation, modification, and implementation of department policies, standards, regulations, and general operating guidelines and procedures associated with improvement of EMS delivery.
  • Assists with the distribution and inventory control of approved drugs, medical supplies, and equipment pertaining to EMS operations and issues supplies and equipment to crews as needed.
  • Observes work performance of EMT's and ATS drivers, monitors compliance with company policies/guidelines and City/Department policies and procedures, and recommends personnel actions as needed.
  • Inspects ambulances, wheelchair vans and associated equipment for compliance with safety and sanitary policies and schedules vehicles for preventative maintenance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of EMS experience with progressive responsibility in the area of personnel is preferred.
  • Must have experience in dealing with fleet maintenance.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

  • Work is typically performed in both office and field settings.
  • Frequent driving and walking.
  • Frequent night and weekend duties are necessary.
  • Frequent exposure to physical stress
  • Regular contact with field personnel, medical vendors, maintenance vendors, and contracted facilities.

The following certifications are required:

  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Texas EMT-Basic Certification
  • City EMT driver permit

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

  • Corpus Christi, TX 78416: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • EMS Supervisor: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • EMT Certification (Required)
  • Texas Drivers License (Required)
  • CPR Certification (Required)
