We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to assist a lady in her 80s. This part-time position is for Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. The role requires a thoughtful approach to dementia care. The position aims to foster an engaging, active, and joyful lifestyle tailored to her cultural needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and medication management.
- Prepare nutritious meals for her and her husband, focusing on West Indian cuisine, and assist if necessary.
- Provide only supervision and meal preparation for her husband.
- Carry out light housekeeping duties like cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, with attention to their cultural preferences.
- Accompany to appointments and recreational activities that align with their interests.
- Manage dementia care sensitively, ensuring a supportive and positive atmosphere.
- Maintain open communication with family members about their health and well-being, as well as any specific cultural considerations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.87 - $18.45 per hour
