What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Bid Manager position at Advanced?
Role Introduction
An exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly capable Senior Bid Manager to make a major contribution to the Advanced Managed Services Sales team, with responsibility for the management of formal bid processes and the submission of proposals and tender responses.
What You Will Do
- Managing all aspects of Bids, in alignment with the sales and pre-sales governance processes and the Advanced bid management best practice methodology
- Responsible for completing responses to Bids, ITT’s, RFP’s, RFI’s, SQ’s, PQQ's etc., including ensuring compliance with internal governance gates
- Working closely with the Sales Director to build and manage virtual bid teams, including bid writers, pre-sales architects, technical specialists, and SME’s
- Supporting the Sales bid team in defining win strategies, including document analysis, undertaking research, facilitating win workshops, and building commitment to the strategy within the bid team
- Creating and maintaining detailed bid plans and additional materials as required, including but not limited to guidance templates, risk logs, and writing style guides
- Writing the bid – lead and deliver answer planning and storyboarding sessions, and interviews to develop benefits-driven copy aligned to bid win strategies
- Ensuring Advanced is subscribed to all relevant procurement frameworks, and monitoring portals, bid mailboxes and other sources for opportunities
- Working closely with the Sales team to qualify opportunities in accordance with the Advanced Ideal Customer Profile and associated qualification criteria
- Managing the library of bid documentation, working with SME’s, architects, and product managers to maintain and improve standard content
- Attending ‘supplier events’ where appropriate, including but not limited to briefing days, pre-market engagements, pre-sales workshops and sales presentations
- Supporting the implementation and adoption of any new technology introduced to our bids team and occasionally the wider Sales Enablement team
- Ensuring the presentation of all bid documentation is in line with company branding and standards, and presents our best response possible, including leading content reviews
- Ensure submission documents are returned to the customer on time and compliant with their procurement process rules
- Working with the Sales Director to perform Win/Loss analyses, building and maintaining a database of competitive insights, and feeding that data into future win strategies
- Provide reporting to internal stakeholders on bid progress
What You Will Have
- Significant experience of working within the Sales function of a business of equivalent size
- Strong experience and knowledge of sales cycles, bid management, procurement frameworks and formal tender processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experienced in stakeholder management at all levels of the organisation
- Strong organisational skills, including planning and coordination
- Coaching, training, leading and influencing others, and good at building relationships
- Governance, processes, and data management
- Proactive, adaptable, and results-driven
