Position Summary
Advancia Aeronautics is hiring two Registered Nurses to support the OB/Gyn Department at the Northern Navajo Medical Center located in Shiprock, New Mexico.
Position contingent upon award of contract, government acceptance of candidate, and positive adjudication of government investigation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Assesses acute and chronic conditions including physical, psychosocial, home health, and educational needs as it pertains to patients.
· Observes and assesses patient's conditions: recognizes, identifies and interprets serious situations and immediately decides proper action. Performs patient assessments and evaluations consistent with GSU COVID Program (testing, vaccinations, and COVID Therapeutics).
· Screens patient and evaluates chief complaint. Initiate treatment measures based on appropriate utilization of standing orders, certifications and standards of care for the COVID program.
· Consults with attending provider and collaborate in developing multi-disciplinary approach to provision of care. Plans and modifies nursing care as needed.
· Administers therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician such as medications, infusions and vaccinations. Implements a plan of care as indicated by patient's condition, all age and medical history.
· Carries out treatments and emergency or other procedures required. Develops an age specific standard of care based on physician's medical care plan and includes problems, expected outcomes (patient care standards), deadlines, and interventions/plan of action, therapeutic measures, and nursing interventions for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
· Evaluates for effectiveness of plan and design changes based upon patient and family needs.
· Provides counseling and teaching to patient and families on preventive, restorative, curative and rehab measure in health care. Provides nursing interventions based on an established plan of care and evaluates for effectiveness.
· Administration of oxygen and other respiratory treatment; parental fluids, N antibiotics, various emergency and routine medicines, topical and systemic medications, including immunizations and conscious sedations prior to special procedures.
· Performs treatment as indicated.
· Evaluates status of patients on an ongoing basis and reports significant findings and/or changes, plan of care/nursing interventions as appropriate. Observes patients closely, records observations, and documents nursing interventions, therapeutics measures administered, patient's reactions status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines.
· Performs patient assessment and evaluation consistent with emergency care: determine nursing procedures and practices to use, and periodically evaluates plan of care to obtain optimal results.
· Initiates emergency interventions as indicated by patient condition, age and medical history. In emergency situations, when a physician is not present or immediately available, initiates resuscitative measures, i.e. acute airway and cardiovascular emergencies based on appropriate utilization of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocol as primary nurse
Education and Experience
· Must have a registered license and be a graduate of an accredited school of registered nurses with a bachelor’s degree. From an accredited program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. All registered nurses must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
· Must provide evidence of current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
· Must have thirty-six (36) months of nursing experience and twenty-four (24) months of OB/Gyn experience
