Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the execution of the annual audit plan providing financial, operational, and strategic assurance while developing a deep understanding of AdvanSix’s policies and procedures
- Participate in a variety of special projects assigned by management
- Perform financial, operational, IT, supply chain, and compliance audits, including supporting management and external auditors with Sarbanes Oxley testing
- Establish and maintain relationships with key business and functional leaders Execute timely/accurate audit planning, testing, and wrap-up/reporting while taking a risk-based approach that suits each client’s specific environment and business (i.e., developing, adapting, reviewing audit programs, test steps, or control evaluations to suit a client's specific environment)
- Bring forth ideas and opinions to other audit team members to collaborate in a team-based environment while also listening to others’ points of view
- Conduct independent and objective reviews across AdvanSix, providing added value to the businesses and operations
- Demonstrate a confident and well-developed communication style, both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear business acumen to business leaders
- Execute a disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of an organization's risk management, controls, and governance processes
- Some travel is required (40%)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, systems engineering, IT or other business-related discipline
- Consulting experience, CPA, ACCA, CPA, CISSP, CIA, CFE, or CISA preferred
- Experience in a related area of work such as internal controls, internal audits, IT, finance, and/or SOX compliance
- Experience with a public accounting firm or large multi-national organization is preferred
- Experience with analysis of business risk assessment and processes
- Strong financial, operational, IT risk, and control evaluation skills
- Must be able to think both autonomously and collaboratively while working to develop high quality deliverables
- Demonstrate initiative, strategic thinking, sound reasoning, business acumen, and analytical skills, especially in relation to professionalism and communication abilities
- Strong project management skills with a focus on timely completion of tasks and the ability to identify and assess a changing array of risks through multi-tasking and prioritization
- Independent, self-starter, with a strong work ethic, high degree of motivation, and the ability to contribute to a positive team attitude
- Proven dedication to teamwork, leadership, and integrity within a professional environment
- Able to execute at a detailed level, while also demonstrating a high-level
- Prior experience in accounting/auditing preferred with the ability to demonstrate they have been a top performer in prior roles
- Experience with IT foundational concepts (e.g. Change Management, Logical Access, IT Operations, and Security) and the associated risks and controls within these processes.
- Exposure to SAP and/or data analytics (SQL, ACL)
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal auditing standards and requirements, as set out by IIA, ISACA, and BIS
