Job Title: Warehouse Coordinator
Location: Columbia, MD
1 Year Plus Contract to Potential Direct Hire.
Hourly Pay: $28/hr - $36/hr Depending on Experience.
6 Paid holidays and 5 PTO Days After 30 Days of Employment. 1 Week Paid Bonus after 1 Year.
Position Description:
The Logistics Operations Coordinator acts as the storeroom’s direct liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to both production planning and the production floor(s). They prioritize storeroom workload, based on production schedule, and assign tasks to department personnel. They are responsible for maintaining storeroom schedule and communicating department status via weekly inter-departmental production status meetings. They process ERP system transactions along with providing hands-on storeroom support.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Seek, prioritize, and distribute incoming storeroom workload to department personnel.
- Maintain department adherence to established storeroom procedures.
o Train new personnel.
o Retain all records of inventory transactions in accordance with procedures.
- Act as primary focal point or Subject Matter Expert (SME) for questions from others, whether internal or external, regarding assigned Logistics functions.
- Conduct or attend staff, planning, production and program meetings and relay updated relevant information to the appropriate parties.
- Use computers to enter transactions, print documents, labels and reports, access or retrieve data and troubleshoot discrepancies within the Logistics system.
- Set up review points for all assignments to keep abreast of job progress and to perform timely and efficient expediting functions.
- Validate the accuracy and correctness of both materials and documents as they are related throughout all processes.
- Perform follow-up, check status of, and expedite, where necessary, any information needed to complete tasks assigned
- Provide hands-on support for general logistics activities. (Ex. Parts pulling, cyclic inventory, stocking).
Basic Qualifications (Required):
- Minimum Associate’s degree in Business, Logistics, Materials Management, or related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in Logistics, Materials Management, Production Planning, or Material Control Planning in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP system data entry. (Ex. Costpoint, SAP, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand and remain on their feet daily for 6-9 hours.
- Ability to lift and move 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos Impromptu.
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Forklift experience, with a clean safety record in a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility to travel. (1-2 weeks annually)
- Experience working for a government defense contractor.
