Job Title: Account Manager

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000
About this position:
Advantech has an immediate opening within our account sales force, as Account Manager. This individual would work from a local office or virtual/home office in the assigned territory, Minneapolis, MN, preferred.
The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of B2B accounts in the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Chicago areas. The ideal candidate will be hungry, outgoing, and aggressive in their sales approach, while maintaining a professional demeanor. They will have a strong business acumen and be able to effectively communicate with clients and internal teams. The Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts, as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. They will be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and presentation software.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing on strategic sales objectives to meet unique customer needs
- Building, qualifying, and managing an accurate and growing sales funnel using Salesforce as well as other tools.
- Travel in assigned territory to promote to, sell to and service customers and channel partners.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with the distribution channel, Manufacturer Representatives, product sales management, and key account sales organizations in development of account strategy and demand generation activities required in both geographical territories, as well as specific vertical markets.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information pertinent to the job from all relevant sources
- Preparation and delivery of OEM business proposals within the assigned key accounts
- Providing information to cross-functional teams by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in-person
- Communication with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail
- Handling complaints, setting disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others
- Using computer and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions, enter data, or process information. Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Data.com, LinkedIn Professional, and other tools is preferred.
- Analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
- Leverage advanced domain knowledge to create a competitive advantage
- Collaboration, and planning of dedicated marketing and sales campaigns which lead to new demand generation activities within Advantech.
- Responsible for quota attainment and personal expenses
- Negotiate various types of contracts
- Lead and conduct frequent hardware training for customers and channel partners
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required
- Successful candidate should have at least 2 years B2B sales experience
- BS degree is preferred
- Self-starter, team player, positive attitude who can work independently from a home office without constant supervision
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 35% of the time
- Understanding of embedded systems, industrial PC (hardware and software) is a plus
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Customer-centric, consultative and a passion for excellence in sales
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
