POSITION SUMMARY Conduct Quality Assurance Audits of QMS, EMS, and production operations assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with management to resolve quality, production, and systemic problems. Function as an information source to various company departments when special and critical issues occur. Review & develop production floor inspection documents. This position description/summary reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Plan and confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and all assigned audit schedules are maintained. Prepare audit reports for management review. 2. Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests related to manufacturing and packaging in accordance with control plans 3. Work with production to resolve major quality problems as required. 4. Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to audit non-conformances. 5. Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality control testing and test equipment usage. Confirm these test procedures are being properly performed. 6. Provide consultation or expert advice to plant management on better operational procedures that improve overall QMS/EMS system efficiency and effectiveness. 7. Provide input to the Quality Assurance Manager for planning long- or short-term business objectives regarding the EMS/QMS system. 8. Applying knowledge of TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards, provide input on the interpretation of the requirements to management for implementation of management policies or operating practices that assure continued registration to these standards. 9. Analyze cost of poor-quality data and work with process owners to implement corrective action. 10. Function as an information source for operators and other SAFA departments when critical quality issues arise. 11. Develop inspection documents for the production floor based on part blueprints and specifications. 12. Assist other quality function as needed such as MSA studies, data collection, and capability analysis. 13. Maintain document control database for internal and external new, revised and deleted documents. 14. Develops procedures and policies as related to internal auditing and document control functions. 15. Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with Quality Assurance Manager.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS Associate’s degree in technical field (Preferred). WORK ENVIRONMENT Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions (e.g., working around moving machines in production facilities) and protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work requires some physical strain such as standing and walking in production facility, and lifting of moderately heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs on an intermittent basis
